This traditional Mexican restaurant in Wilmington, NC is owned by the Ibarra family from the small Mexican town of Degollado. The name El Cerro Grande is inspired by a “Big Hill” close to their family ranch.El Cerro Grande began as an idea to provide authentic, quality Mexican food with exceptional and friendly service, and the door of their first restaurant was opened in Wilmington, NC in January 1991.
